Hospice

Hospice care focuses on providing comfort, rather than a cure.

When a diagnosis is terminal and a goal of recovery is no longer possible or desired, ConnectCare and GRHS are here for our patients and their families.

We’re partners in delivering end-of-life care that’s thoughtful, respectful and comforting. We strive to help patients live well through the process of dying, whether months or just days remain.

Hospice isn’t a place. It’s an approach to caring for the whole person that
includes:

  • Nursing care for comfort or pain relief
  • Therapies to ease pain or distress – music, pet visits, massage
  • Help with tasks of daily living, like showering and grooming
  • Psychological care to help with depression and anxiety
  • Emotional support to ease sadness, fear and grief
  • Spiritual connection as desired
  • Social services that provide advocacy and resources
  • Family involvement and education
  • Grief counseling

Hospice care can be delivered in a variety of settings:

  • In a private home
  • At GRHS Long Term Care, or any nursing facility
  • At a hospice-care facility
  • In the hospital

When someone you love is facing a terminal illness, hospice care can help ease everyone’s pain.
