In the early days, house calls were common!
Glencoe’s first doctors made farmhouse calls in horse-and buggy rigs. Their offices in town served as exam, operating and delivery rooms for the great-grandparents of some of our current patients.
In 1941, the town approved a proposal to build a 30-bed hospital, funded by a WPA grant, community donations and bond issues.
Now the largest employer in Glencoe, we’re proud to be part of its history.
